Book Two: The Mystery of the Missing Wallet

Meg Thornton, widow of DCI Grant Thornton and amateur sleuth, is now living in Britford Lodge Care Home where she is reunited with an old friend from The Cedars. A wallet goes missing and that night its owner is brutally murdered - a coincidence or something more sinister? With a feeling of deja vu, Meg calls in her young friend, Lauren Peachy, to help investigate.

DI Bywater and DS Williams are assigned the case, and they are not happy to find the pair interfering. But Dan can't stay cross at Meg for long, particularly when she keeps handing him clues on a plate!

A second grisly murder occurring in nearby Wilton is quickly linked and the perpetrator identified; the police are now on the hunt for a dangerous murderer out for revenge. Meanwhile, Meg and Lauren are certain that the killer has an accomplice, so turn their attention to identifying the mole inside the care home. What they don't realise is that the murderer will stop at nothing to protect his accomplice, and they are now facing a very real threat to their lives.

"As the reader joins Meg and Lauren on another murder mystery, it’s like being reunited with old friends. Book Three: The Mystery of the Missing Child

Meg and Lauren are surprised when the sous-chef at Britford Lodge, Sanjeev, approaches them to ask for help. His cousin, Vikram, has been arrested and detained on suspicion of child abduction and murder! Sanjeev is adamant that his cousin is innocent, but DI Barnes of Salisbury police is convinced that he has his man, despite there being no body and only circumstantial evidence. Thanks to Lauren passing her driving test, our pair of amateur sleuths are now
mobile. After visiting the baby’s mother, Mia Jenkins, Meg and Lauren suspect that two-year-old Noah was taken alive, so they set out to find him. Their search takes them into the murky underworld of a racist neo-Nazi group, whose leader is none other than Noah’s estranged father, Tyler Ford. Has Tyler organised the kidnap of his own son in order to blame Mia’s immigrant boyfriend, Vikram?
Their investigation runs into trouble from the outset, with Lauren’s sexy sergeant boyfriend furious that she is interfering in a police matter. Things take a turn for the worse when their chief suspect is himself murdered, but our sleuths continue to unravel the clues in their hunt for the missing child. As the story races towards its thrilling climax, concern for Noah’s safety leads Meg and Lauren into a potentially perilous situation; can DI Dan and DS Viv race to the rescue in time?
